Practice Areas:Product Liability
James G. Perry is a civil and criminal litigation attorney specializing in product liability.
Prior to joining MWA in 2021, James worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles, where he litigated hundreds of criminal cases ranging in severity from financial crimes to homicide. James worked closely with the investigation teams participating in each criminal case, providing legal analysis and guidance to relevant evidence-gathering entities and law enforcement personnel. Beyond the confines of the courtroom, James also led training seminars for law enforcement and district attorney staff addressing legal procedures and the limitations of certain types of evidence in the court of law.
As the recipient of top honors for his grades at Southwestern Law School before transferring to Berkeley Law School, James is no stranger to pursuing excellence through hard work and education. He was awarded numerous accolades for his successes in trial competitions including the Outstanding Advocate Award in the Bales Trial Competition and the honor of being the San Francisco Regional Champion and National Semi-Finalist for the American Bar Association’s L&E Trial Competition.
James has taken his dedication and success in mock trials to the other side of the bench as well. Following his reign as one of the top 20 mock trial attorneys in the country while at Cal Poly Pomona, he has returned as a mock trial judge and guest lecturer to assist other future attorneys in their trial advocacy education. He also applies this to his guest lectures at Berkeley Law School where he challenges students to push the boundaries of their comfort zones to excel in the courtroom. His teaching opportunities are not just relegated to the university level, though. James also volunteered as a Facilitator with Project LEAD where he taught fifth grade students about law enforcement, the legal process, American history, and even financial success.
